Default Suggested mods for 2006 Road Glide

Just sold my '05 FatBoy and ordered a '06 Road Glide which is scheduled to ship in June. Looking for feedback from forum members on what mods are "must haves" and other suggested mods.

Some of the mods already planned are:

Screamin' Eagle Big Bore Stage I Kit

Power Commander 807-511 PCIII USB

Hard Krome T-Rex True Duals

Color Matched Tour-Pak Ultra

Road Zeppelin Air Adjustable Leather Seat and riders and passangers backrests

Hmm, sounds like your off to a good start. Maybe a set of hogtunes so you can hear your stereo over those T Rex. I've heard good things about the roadzepplin but damn they look like a couch. Maybe a shorter black wind deflector depending on what color your getting. And there is always chrome. Also maybe the quick detach mount for the tourpack.

So,

Hogtunes

wind deflector

quick detach tour pack

Thanks for the reply. I plan to upgrade the stereo system myself, XM adapter ($79 my route or $499 Harley Davidson route) and the speaker upgrades. I've built numerous car show quality sound systems in my life and I'm sure I can build the ultimate system for my Glide.

Something else I did was added a power outlet into one of the pockets in the fairing. Just picked up an outlet at Bass Pro Shops so it would be weather proof. Its flush mounted so unless you pull the liner back youll never know its there. its a convenient place to plug in the cell phone or ipod or whathaveyou.

Something else (heh always something else) you will want to put on your list is a set of liners for the tourpack, bags and pockets. The HD ones are form fitted one piece and work great although I've seen aftermarket ones that are in a couple pieces and probably a good bit cheaper. With out the liners I was going nuts hearing my stuff rattle and slide in the bags.

And since you are adding a tourpack you might need the antenae relocator kit. Personally I went with a hidden antenae in the fairing there are several choices out there for that but you can figure that out when you do your stereo.

You might want to consider putting floating rotors on the bike, suppose to give better stopping power. Mods to go faster should be done after the mods to stop better.

Very exciting time!!! Congrats!

Saddlebag spoilers look good and add some (clean) light & visibility from the rear.
Not sure how the Chubbys are, but mirrors are an issue most of the time. Long-stem mirrors help (Kuryakyn's look great and are ~1/3 $$$'s of HD.) Do the bars require new cables too?
Oil Cooler?
Hwy pegs?
Isolated floorbd inserts (there are a ton of styles HD offers) really eliminate vibration to the feet.
Rear blinker / brake light module w/red lenses?
Passenger Backrest & docking hardware?
Laydown license plate mount?

With or without any of it, you'll love the bike!!!!

Ain't it fun to get a new ride ! I love mine so far, only 2500 miles, but then I only picked it up on Jan 12th, not bad for Michigan.

I went this route with the taillight.....

it's only $$$$$$

Steele,

I would, did actually, get the classic version of the tour pac, it doesn't have those lights intruding into the luggage area, hence more room for my stuff.

I like the stock bars on the Road Glide, you might want to try them before you change them.

And now for the MOST IMPORTANT ACCESORY.....you NEED a 6 speed, I realize you don't know it now but, you need it. 19,000 miles on mine and I have never regretted buying the incredibly over priced tranny in my RG.

DC.
