Default Lowering a 99 Electra Glide Classic

Any suggestions to the best way to lower a 99 Electra Glide Classic? My dad has one with Air shocks in front and back and I would like to get him some new shocks to lower it for him. Does anyone know the stock height of the stock shocks?

if you shorten it to the standards of the street glide your ride will suffer. not as much suspension travel. i was gonna trade off my 08 sg shocks for a pair of same year ultra shocks, then decided against it, cause that'd leave me with a morphodite, no longer a true streetglide. that suspension travel really helps, to reduce it too much could make the ride harsh.

I had lowering blocks, then went with air ride. The ride difference is what really surprised me...much better!

Had lowering blocks and stock height front end on my 99 EGS and then went to 12" Progressive 440's and front Progressive lowering kit for '99-2000. Like the rear shocks better than lowering blocks. If I was going to do it again, think I would replace the shocks w/ 12'' again and change the front springs with new stock springs. The new seals will make her hold air. Handling feels weird with a low front end and the lift strut under the frame will hit speed bumps. Just my .02
