Default big sucker or stage 1?

I apologize if I'm beating a dead horse here but I just purchased a power commander v and now I need a air cleaner. Are there any advantages of a ness big sucker stage 1 or a harley davidson stage 1 and do you really need a chrome backing plate, I plan to use the stock cover

Flow about the same. Don't need a chrome backing plate. Ness uses a filter from Airaid which is like the K&N and is washable and oilable. SE is washable only but not oilable and is not as good a filter. Ness may also be a little cheaper than the SE but I haven't checked recently.

Get the chrome backing plate. It is still visible, at least a little. The non chrome gets very ugly after a while.
