Clutch adjust: Hot or cold?

Clutch adjust: Hot or cold?
Making minor clutch adjustments on my 2005 RKC, with the "in line cable adjuster".
I noticed that I have more play at the hand control when the bike is hot vs cold.
I could start by having a 1/16th inch play at the start of my ride, and end up with an 1/8th inch play.
When the bike cools, it reverts back.
Do I adjust cable when hot or cold?
I ask because I feel a little "stutter" when taking off from a standing position, and thought maybe my cable length had something to do with it.

Cable adjust doesn't matter if it's hot or cold. You might find a little cable stretch after a day of ridin' but it shouldn't cause any problem. Your stutter is more likely cable drag (it needs lube). I changed to a hydraulic clutch & it's a lot smoother. You also never adjust or lube a hydraulic.
