High idle on the Ultra
Hey guys,
Took a trip down to South Padre Island on the bike this weekend and the ride was great with no issues. I noticed once we got down here and started riding around that my idle is at 2000 rpm. I can roll the throttle backwards just a tiny bit and it drops down to 1000 but as soon as I release the throttle it springs forward back to it's normal start point and revs back to 2000 rpm. I have the Power Commander V with FuelMotos map along with Rush slip ons. I havent done any other mods to the bike and don't know if the high idle is due to the PCV or maybe an adjustment in the throttle grip itself. I dread the thought of having to take it to the dealer as I would have to remove the PCV physically from the bike. My dealer would claim a voided warranty in a second ( he has had numerous bad dealer postings on here already) Any ideas?
Thanks

if your throttle isn't all the way closed when you shut it off, it'll remember that setting and you'll end up with a high idle. there is a method to where you turn on the ignition, then off for a few seconds. on and off four times, and it'll reset your idle. i did the same thing one time and couldn't figure it out. called the service dept at the dealership and they told me about the procedure. works great. some people are in the habit of blippin their throttle before killing the motor. doesn't work on the late model harleys. let it idle down, then kill the motor, no more problems.
