Default Another posting about the lousy '09 Ultra rider backrest

Yes, I love the '09 Ultra- but the back rest itself is so poorly constructed that you can tell the distinct difference when you put it against a 07 version.

Worse than that, the bracket for the adjustable version does not fit properly, it even stumped two 'wrenches' at the dealership when I had them install it. The adjustable version does not seat well and is poorly designed. by moving the backrest forward and if you adjust it back to sit parallel with the seat, you dont get the 30 degree adjustable play that you are supposed to have with the adjustable version.

As if I have the time..but I am so pissed about this lack of quality and design fit that I am going to write the MOCO about this product. I encourage others to do so as well..as I have noted that there are several threads on here with similiar complaints. Too bad, would really love a rider backrest..but I returned the backrest to the dealer today. - no difficulty and they totally understanding.

I actually dont mind the '09 Ultra stock seat, it has a deeper bucket for the rider- not bad at all in my view..

So, does anyone know if there is a good after market adjustable rider backrest alternative available for the stock seat? Thanks

AG

I posted a different thread about lousy quality of the HD drvr bkrest and another member posted this web site for an after market bkrest. Looks good and when I e-mailed them with some questions, Bob got back to me quickly and answered them all.

Sorry to hear it is not as good as the older model. Hopefully they will get this all sorted out.

ranman,
Good to hear from you again, actually it has a metal pan and this is why it appealed to me. I asked Bob specifically if the pan was metal and he said yes. If you look at their manufacturing process pics on the site you will see that it is metal.
