Found this on Mobils site. I think it just there way of getting to buy new oil.
Although I have heard that the chemicals in the oil tend to break down after a while.

Ya think? Ever open up a quart of REFINED CRUDE OIL that has been sitting on the shelf in your garage for about 8-10 years? I have and it had taken on this real dark brown, almost black tint to it. Wasn't clean and clear looking like a fresh quart of oil. Think about it! It has been refined and exposed to air after coming out of the ground if you're talking about conventional oil. If you are talking about synthetic oil, same deal. It's been proccessed and exposed to air. What happens to wine after it has been exposed to air, think about it, it goes south MAN!
