Default Slip-on Mufflers for 2009 FLHRC (Road King Classic)

I'm looking for a pair of fairly loud mufflers for my new Road King Classic. I can't spend $900 for the high end mufflers. Any suggestions for some loud mufflers? Thanks!

Dyno Tuned Jackpots from Fuelmotousa.com

great price, sound good and great customer satisfaction. get the 2.35" baffle for the loudest they have...good sound at cruise but barks good when you get on it.

Good choice, but the OP should be advised that these large baffles will hurt performance, so there's a trade-off.

Ted Kepple, Fullsac, Bob Vic, etc all do baffle modifications to stock touring mufflers with an eye to both increasing sound volume/quality and providing more free-flowing exhaust. Pricing runs anywhere from $85ish to $200. You can opt to send in your mufflers for rework or a buy a take-off set they have already modified.

Seems like a good cost-effective way to go and has the side benefit of preserving the EPA stamp on the stock mufflers (and stock look).

Ted sells on eBay out of PA: tkepple03
Fullsac is in AZ: www.fullsac.com
Bob Vic sells on eBay and a web site iirc

Lots of people swear by Jamie at www.fuelmotousa.com

Default Slip on mufflers

I check out Ted Kepple on Ebay. Sounds like a great deal. Has anyone had any trouble with his pipes? I like the look of the stock pipes and this would be perfect.

Where did you get the V&H classic slip on's? How much? Thanks for your response.

I got them from the HD dealer where I bought my bike. I had a coupon for 10% off on anything in the store for 2 months since I bought my bike from them.

I think they retail for slightly under $400 - but you can get them cheaper online, many places sell them.

Excellent fit and finish, and they were a complete breeze to install. All of my non-cycling friends say the bike sounds awesome!

Good luck on whatever you go with.

there are a lot of bikes around where i live that have the Wild Pigs that usually are under $200. Typical bike night will bring in a hundred bikes. I have had them apart and Rush apart and there is no visible diffeence other than cost.

i have an 09 RK and i bought the Vance and Hines Basic Slip-ons. Amazing sound, deep and loud but not going to kill ya. With these there is no reason to get a fuel pak or a stage 1 air cleaner. I got mine for $300 through my dealer, but I believe they are usually around $400.
