All oil manufacturers warn not to mix additives with motor oil, and I personally wouldn't do it unless I saw very reliable independent evidence that it improved lubricity without any adverse side-effects. When mixing additives you don't know how the chemistry of the oil and additive will work together.

Maybe once a season, I'll use a bit of Lucas Injector Cleaner in my gas tank. Just because a fuel injector is on a motorcycle doesn't mean it never gets clogged or dirty. As a side benefit, it also will boost mileage by about 10%. I also use this in all my FI vehicles more regularly.
Additionally, Lucas sells oil conditioner and states on the label specifically to add to Harley oil, up to 25%.
Lucas is a well known American company, unlike whoever makes durolube. I had a faulty head gasket replaced last year and my cylinders still look new on a motor that has 76,000 miles.

On the other side of the FI cleaner coin, I do not use cleaner and have had no problems. My oldest FI vehicle is a 1987. My highest mile one has 154k miles on it. My FI bike had 74k miles on it. My gas mileage is at or better than what the EPA rates each vehicle at.
IMO, FI cleaner is a waste of $$. FI isn't a new fangled gadget. It has been the standard for over 2 decades now. Gasoline is formulated with all the cleaners you need.

Yeah, Duralube and Slick50 were both sued and heavily fined by the FTC for LYING about their product and the claims on what it can do. It is snake oil, don't waste your money. Look at it this way, if they had something that was SOOOO GREAT don't you think the big oil companies like Mobil and AMSOIL would add that secret ingredient to their oils and charge us more money. You're darn right they would! Stick with a good full synthetic oil like Mobil 1 or AMSOIL and you will be much better off

I think i had good experience with duralube. I drove from Quebec Canada to Florida with my Aries k in the early eighties with a faulty radiator that kept the temperature almost in the red all the way and back.I remember driving on the beach at Daytona with all the windows down and the heater with the fan to the max to get some heat out.
Once i blew a radiator hose on my Dodge caravan and i carried on untill i reached home ( maybe 10 km or so ) a lot of steam and hot temperature but i made it home and after fixing the hose and some new colant everything came back to normal. I was sold to the product in those years.
I did put duralube in my evo 1340 a couple times after reading of a felow that said he put it in his Harley for a couple years with no harm. Reading about all the comments about additives pros and cons let me perplexed. Dino or synthetic duralube or not. i might go synthetic with duralube. I'm on dino oil since i have the bike and the speeddometer shows 111680 Km and still run like a champ.

I would NEVER put it in my bike however, years ago, I had a 1989 Ford Tempo and I blew a rad hose while 20 miles away from home. I'm in rural Ontario, and I had my young son with me. I thought what the hell, ill run it till it quits. I made it home. I drove that car two more years. Snake oil? Ya maybe but I put it in my f150 to this day. By the way, I hated that car.

James Russell Publishing:
5. Question: What about oil & gasoline additives. Should I use them?
Answer: Yes. The best oil additive I have used is Dura Lube. The moment you put just a cup (8 ounces) in your oil you will notice engine noise decreases, fuel mileage and power increases. I use Dura Lube in my twin-cam Harley engine on each oil change (I have also used CD2 brand). These products reduce friction and heat in the engine and you will learn to love this product due to its engine protection. Just use it in the engine oil, not the transmission and primary. If you have a bike that uses the same oil for engine, transmission and clutch, Dura Lube will be okay to use. It may be good for a Harley in the transmission and clutch, but I have not done so and I have not checked with Dura Lube to see if it is okay. I would assume some in the primary case will do no harm, but the transmission may be a bit risky. Dura Lube does sell a manual transmission additive that you could use in the transmission. It would be best to use Harley's synthetic oil in the transmission and primary chain case
