Default Shame on Harley Davidson

The Stealer quoted me three hours $282 for labor to change the switch covers to chrome ones. I am not changing the buttons just the covers. An independent quoted me $25. What is wrong with this picture? Well, I think we lost our automobile industry for doing crap like this.

What a shame that many of us are so loyal to HD and they try to rape us like that.

WOW!! Are you sure you guys were on the same page? That's ridiculous enough to make me think maybe they misunderstood!

Surely they thought you meant chrome switch housing instead of switch caps

I hope this is the case. This job should only take about a half hour. It did for me on my 01RK.

Honestly, i think it takes longer to change the switch caps than the switch housings. Dicking around with those switch caps and getting the new ones on without breaking them is a pain in the rump!

Most indys use the same data source for calculating labor time as the dealerships. It seems to me that someone misunderstood the task. Call another dealership and ask the same question.
