Default Installing Pegs in Mounts

Feel kind of stupid asking this but... I have installed rider and passenger pegs on other HDs without a big problem. I am trying to install Streamliner pegs into HD 360 degree mounts to put on as highway pegs. I have the D spring fitted correctly in the mount. These are increadiby tight and I can't get the peg to slide into the mount. I tried hammering down the spring a little and it does not help. I have just about stood on the thing and I can't get it to budge. Don't want to pound it with a hammer. Any tips? Thanks.

Just takes a lot of work and finagling but it will go in. Had the same problems with my pegs but got them in. You can try a rubber mallet but you shouldn't need it.

Had the same problem with Streamliners. Try a little WD-40 on the peg then wiggle them in. Worked for me. Just wipe down when you're done.

Good luck.

mine slid in but I've had to rubber mallet many pegs on different bikes. one I just had to forget the D ring.
The adjustable peg mount has a set screw that is used as a stopper. you could negate the D ring and tighten up the set screw for your adjustment and then tighen the bolt holding the peg the peg should not move.

When all else fails...Get a bigger hammer and some WD-40!
