What's the special proof of insurance? I can be at Canadian Customs in 20 minutes from my driveway and have been there more times than I can count. No one has ever asked for any "special" proof. Actually, no one has ever asked me for any proof of insurance (health or motorcycle). .

Sense of humor....I got detained for about 3 hours one time because i had too much luggage....I was coming to NC for 3 months while i was waiting for my Greencard and they were saying my wife was smuggling me illegally in the USA... luckily our stories checked out ...we were in 2 seperate rooms....Sense of humor....That part of the country is nice....Wineries, Agriculture etc....If you have time to see Toronto it's a very nice n clean city....Lived there for 6 years...

there is alot of nice riding if you take the back roads along Lake Erie. Lots of small towns to stop in. Port Dover is a biker friendly town with some leather and tattoo shops and the best perch in the land. If you take the highways then QEW will take you to 403, to 401 to Windsor and cross into Detroit. You can do that run in about 5 hours riding time with a stop for lunch. Highway #3 is a good alternate county road, it is on the map, it will take a couple hours longer.
The metric system is easy as posted above. Just remember that the 400 series highways are 60MPH and the regional (county) roads are usually around 35 or 40MPH.
Leave the weapons at home and remember the helmet.
Word of caution, be very careful of the beer up here. We sell real beer up here and can be very harmful to the untrained! LOL
Also, we are one of the friendliest countries there is so no problem stopping and asking for recommendations for food and sites.
Enjoy your ride, wish I was able to meet up with you, you will be passing almost right by my house, but have to work this weekend.
