Not sure if this applies to you - Leave the gun at home unless you want to give it away. <G>

Living in NY, I always have my registration and ins. card(not special just NYS). If you have had a DUI/DWI in the past you will not be allowed in to Canada period. You must apply for a pardon from the general counsulate to be let in. If no passport, then orginal birth cert./or a offical copy from the state/town/manicupalty.

If you come through NF,NY take the Rainbow bridge. I-190N through to Queenston/Lewiston is under construction, not bike friendly roads.

A passport makes getting in and out a breeze, I would reccomend it personally.
I got hassled going into Canada. They asked me a ton of questions, as my brother got pissed cause I started laughing because they were repetive questions. (edit) by hassled I mean my parents showed passports and got asked if they had helmets and then went through. My brother and I had to take our glasses off and got asked a ton of questions but were only stopped for 5 minutes or so.
Getting back in was a breeze.
I didn't need any proof of insurance.

Personally I would go into Canada either way whether it was just to go there, heck we went up there to get lunch just to say we went to Canada. Sides it's an extra 200 miles of riding.

Pretend your going to another country.
Simple.
Act accordingly.
Bring a Passport, Helmet, Insuance (ask you Insurance Co. for a Canadian Card - They will provide it), Leave the weapons at home.
You know - Common Sence stuff.
I am up here quite often.

Any input from those who know the answers is great!!

If you start in Indianapolis it's actually 20 miles shorter to go to the falls via Canada then via rt 90 thru Ohio. Where did you find the extra 200 miles? I can't see where it is longer thru Canada no matter where you start in Indiana. Maybe it's just my map.

Pretty much everything was covered here, except the hazards:
Canadian beer 5-6.5%
and always watch for Moose knuckles, there everywhere. And yes they do cause accidents

You don't need a special insurance card. I can see the mist from my house. I go there all the time.

Highway speed limit: 100 kmh = 60 mph. (They usualy tolerate 20 KMH MAX over speed limit.)
City speed limit: 50 kmh = 30 mph
School zone speed limit: usualy 30 kmh = 18 mph

Have a nice trip.
