Default Road King Bags to lock

For my 40th B-day I just bought my 1st HD. Choose a 05 Road King [sm=icon_rock.gif]so my wife could enjoy the bliss that come with a Harley. Here is my question. Does anyone know if they make locks for the saddle bags, windshield & back rest?

I really like the fact that when she is not with me & I am cruising around town I can take them off so easy. There lies the issue. It is so easy that they could be all gone in 10sec. Anyone have any ideas?

Does your RK have leather bags with the buckles or hard lids? They do make a set of locks for the leather bags. If you don't want to lose the windshield, you might want to forgo the quick release windshield for a hard mounted one. As far as the backrest goes....either it mounts hard or not. Don't have any suggestions there....I have an Ultra without those worries, but I hope you find what your looking for.

Have you considered the alarm system with the siren and pager? Don't know if they're sensitive enough to go off with removal of bags and windshield or not.

My advice would be to buy the alarm system - that'll protect the windshield and they do make locks for those bags (I think) check with your dealer. You can set the sensitivety to a pretty high level but, if the thief is good, it may not trip. The lock may not be made by Harley.

They are leather
I have the security system (it came with the bike)
& I have tried to take them off while alarm is on & I can do it without tripping the alarm.

I may have to fabricate something. Thanks to all who responded.

You can tweak the alarm sensitivity. Directions are in the owner's manual. Not sure if you can get it sensitive enough to detect bag removal, though.

If you have a Road King Classic - you need to go with an aftermarket lock. The one I found is here.

HD makes a lock for the Road King Custom bags, it's in this year's accessory catalog.

Hope this helps.

As for the backrest if you make it removable you can buy locks for them through harley. As for the rest, get the alarm system for you bike. I have hard bags so they have a lock on them.
