Default '09 Grips (TBW)

I'm swapping from stock grips to some Performance Machine grips. Anything special I need to be aware of before doing this on TBW bike?

Not really! Actually easier to the than a cable type throttle. No adjusters to loosen and reset.
Just seperate the switch housings and pull the grip off. It has a internal spline that mates with the twist grip sensor.

If you have the same PM grips as I do, then you need to drill 2 dimples on the left bar where the set screws will rest. That will keep the grips nice and secure, since the left one doesn't actually go inside the switch housing but just butts up next to it.

Changing the grips on the TBW bikes is really REALLY simple.

Thanks for the advice guys. Just installed them and you're right, much easier than the cable type.

I have three sets of these. One tip... take some heavy duty axle grease and put a little itty bitty smear on the inside of the right grip, just enough to keep it from dragging. Every set I have, after about a month of using them get all rough and drag and bind. You know feel grabby. It's because there is no teflon coating or anything in the grip - which sucks... Just a Dab of Grease has worked for me with no issues to the TBW.

Great tip. I was surprised to see no form of wear ring or the like.
