I am glad yours are hitting on the SG. Anybody else get the same results?
Here you go. You can't the tape, but it is on the latch at the end of my finger. You are looking at the right bag from the back looking forward.

The only reason I can think that you need the 3M tape on the latch there is that it might touch the mounting bracket during idle.

I said something about the bolt scratching the bags about a month ago. At least you can clean it up the leather with black wax or shoe polish, my Vivid Black hard bag has a permanent scratch. I filed down the head to make it smooth, but I'm going to check into the clear rubber idea.

HD's tape has stayed on my docking points no prob for 6 months now. Did you clean off the area where the tape attaches before applying it? Brake cleaner works good to remove oil residue.

ftaner thank you for the P/N. how does this part works?

BTW it sais "Required for installation of Docking Hardware Kits on '09-later FLHRC models, and Luggage Rack P/N 53011-98 on '94-'08 FLHRC and '07-'08 FLHRSE models."

why do they develop this part now? they should made it 9 month ago with the 4 point docking hardware because "it is required for installation"

Could I ask harley for a new saddlebag because mine is scratched because of their fault?

If this new part is developed because they made a mistake shouldnt they give this part free to all people who allready bought the 4 point dock?

Harley is Harley

I was at the Eagles Nest Harley shop in lathrop CA this morning. They had quit a few bikes set up with the 4 point detachable hardware and seat. None of the bikes had the plastic tab on them.

I get it.... I get it I checked last night and on the right saddle bag the mounting screw on the front is slightly scratching the leather on the edge of the lid.. It doesn't do it on the left side.. I tried shimming the front bracket out it does not seem to work.. It looks like the bags are formed differently.... The chrome caps do protect the lids but from a differnt problem
