I cannot imagine that is much worse than sitting in slow moving traffic for more than an hour in 100 degree heat. I have done that more times that I would like to remember and my bike still runs.

+1
In 50 degree temps there should be no worries..I think the throttle may be unrelated.
That exact same thing happen to me this year. My battery was dead, so I jumped it and rode to the HD shop and left it running for a few minutes ( I thought) it was 30 degs outside. 30 minutes later pipe turned yellow at the head and my throttle cable was stuck. So I feel your pain.
I just changed the fluids and replaced my throttle and return cable and I was fine.
Change the motor oil and ride it. You should be fine. As said maybe the throttle cable is damaged, but most likely it just needs to be lubed, you'll know next time you ride it.
synthetic oil will take a beating but once you break it down it is about worthless. Change the oil and next month when you ride it again see if the throttle is working smooth again. If not change them out.
you should be ok in my opinion. an hour in 50 degree temps aint no biggie. didn't HD put a vrod in a hot box out in the middle of the desert idling for a few hours with no issues? (i know vrods are water cooled...but still)
