Default lowering a road king classic?

Hey friends, any have a rkc that they've lowered? How difficult was it?

it's fairly easy. There are plenty of drop in spring kits for the front whcih go for an average of about $125 and you can do an off set bracket for the rear shocks for $75 but I don't trust them and prefer to use new shocks.

ya i'd rather do new shocks. so new rear shocks AND new springs for the front then?

I went with 11" 410 Heavy Duty shocks from Progressive. I'm roughly 230lbs and rarely ride 2 up. Even when I do my wife only weighs 110lbs. Could have gone with the 440's but they were more expensive and couldn't see the point. Had my indy lower the front 1" with progressives 1" lowering kit. All in all the ride is still really good though not quite as plush as before.

I have the Progressive Suspension Drop-in kit up front (1/2" pvc spacer). The rear is lowered with Heavy Duty air shocks (12") and a TJ Products lowering kit. I installed all myself with ease, a manual is highly recommended for this job. I will replace the 1/2 " spacer with a 3/4" or 1" in the near future, front almost looks lower than the rear to me. i lowered my 09 road king 1" and it rides and feels great it took me about 2 hours to install i bought the shocks off a friend who had them on a road king but he put a air suspension so i picked them up for $100 best damn money i've spent it makes it alot easier to control especially for me i'm 175 lbs and am 5'9"
