nice work GTS, maybe you can make a "wiring kit" with all the necessary wires and connectors so we can purchase.

+1 for gts... "how to guide" great for the guys that might want to attempt this on their own if they have not done it before. Nice write up!

1. The Focals seem KILLER !! ---- Could you have used the 6.5's ??
2. Alpine 4.150 ------------------This is the amp I will use also.
3. Module/bezel ----------------- How much is this combo ??
4. Pioneer 6 X9's ---------------- Are these better than the 5 ways ?
5. Bags--------------------------Make a NICE install !!
6. Wires/ quick connects---------You need to market these !!!
7. JVC Head unit-----------------Nice unit, specs look good !!

How will you wire the speakers up ?? 6 speakers on a 4 CH amp.

You are a VERY meticulous installer, and your work looks beyond professional !!

i can certainly help you out in this area... let me add it all up, and either tell you exactly what i used or ill help you put something together based on you setup...

in looking at it, i could have made an adapter to put either a 4x6 maybe a 6x8 or a 6.5, the thing is, with these speakers, you are prob not going to notice a difference worth going through all that work, these are nicer speakers than normal and focus should be put on adjusting them properly (for sound quality and not volume) these should produce very clean sound, as they have for me in the past...

the combo was about $260 (for the radio module, bezel and cradle), but was well worth the quality and time saved/ease of install, if you were to pay me to make something close to this and install your hand controls using the pac i have on my bike, i would prob charge more than the $260, plus you do not splice any wires or have to play with resistors...and it provides a spot for you power ground and acc. for the radio, as well as being able to control your illumination using the hand controls...

front fairing speakers wired up as normal (to ch.1 and ch.2), the 6x9s however, i will have to play with this, i dont want to drop the resistance to 2ohm, i would rather stay at 4. so i may play with a series/bridged type setup, for ch 3 and ch 4, i have had probs, in the past with this amp, and running it at 2ohm, dont know if that was a fluke, but after hearing others say the same thing, i am trying to keep it around 4 ohm.. in theory thought the amp should be able to handle 2 6x9s per channel parallel (which would drop the ch. down to 2 ohm), the amp puts out the same power two or four ohm.

Nice install again. If anyone wants to buy an Apline PDX 4.150 I have one left over from my last bike/stereo build. That and a set of JL Audio XL Series 525's with Tweeters and Crossovers. PM me if you need an amp for one of these high end installs.
