Default Corbin for comfort?

Keeping my stock for 2-up, but want the Corbin solo for looks. How is it for comfort? Does it provide any low back support opposed to stock? Looks liek it has a little lip there.

alot depends on your size. I am 5/6" and had the seat made just a little lower - it gives me great back support and I love my corbin... these seats are different and not for everyone... those that like them, seem to love them.. then there are those that would prefer to sit on a rock, go figure... not sure where you live, but if close to CA or FL - ride to the factore and have one made while you wait....

The Corbin seat is AWESOME... Scooter hit the nail on the head about peoples opinions of Corbin. Most of the time the negative feedback is about 3 things: The cost and being "Hard" and having a break in period. I put hard in quotes because the material used is designed to conform to your a$$ets. I had the opportunity to try both Corbin and Mustang on my Fat Boy. The Mustang seat provided INSTANT comfort over Stock. It raised me up a little and was not as sleek looking. The Corbin, was stiff but gave better support on the lower back, put me lower, closer and looked a lot better. Although the seat (Corbin) was hard, it did not hurt (The reason why is explained on thier website), no hot spots. The seat really felt better as the seat time increased. My vote goes to Corbin...hands down.

I have one now on my SG. The seat makes the difference. I'm very satisfied.

Corbin is a firm seat. Soft does not mean better IMO. It does take a little time to conform, but I tend to like a firmer seat than most...a pillow type seat is a nightmare to me... I agree also there are no hot spots and hot spots are what you often find on the stock seats...

I have had both Mustang and Corbin solos and I am a solid Corbin fan. It is firmer which I feel provides more support. There is a break period which for me was around 800 miles, but I feel that is becuase it is leather (side note - leather is a naturual matrial threrefore it breaths), add the backrest and you are set, I have so far had max miles in one day of 325 and no stiff sore or fatigue, stock seat would be good for abot 150 + or -, Mustang was about 150 on my 04 Sporty , it's stock seat was good for around 100 so make your own conclusion for Sporty versus Road King comfort. The biggest variable that I can see besides the Corbin being leather which helps it conform to you providing better comfort, is off the self the Corbin already conforms to you with a more curves seating surface and curved transition from the seat surface up to the back. The Mustang is much sharper of a transition to the back of the seat, it also tens to be wider which is not always better for all riders.

This is just my opinion, you really need to assess what is really the sore points you have on the seat you ride now and than logically try to look at what would help; more support here or there, narrow here wide there and then look at the seats and decide.

I have used both Corbin and Mustang. Corbin is more comfortable, looks better, and has a seat of leather instead of vinyl. When I bought my new bike last year I had a corbin seat for it before the bike came in.

Another vote for Corbin! PhatHarley hits it on the dot! Yes, Corbin seats are firmer, but they do not produce any hotspots or sags after a long ride. I have tried many seats, and ended up with Corbin time and time again.

Corbin made my FXSoftailCustom suitable for touring. A great seat. Yes, it is firm and I think that is why it is so well suited for all day riding. I read somewhere, maybe on the Corbin site, an explanation of why firmness was not a negative. In part they gave an example of how in the old days farmers had tractors with steel seats which were curved to conform to the butt and the farmers would ride these tractors from sun up to sundown day after day. I never worked on a farm but I have ridden my Corbin day after day and other parts of my body may have developed aches, but never my butt. Note: I do have the Dual Touring not the Solo.

Thanks everyone. I think I am going to snag a Corbin Classic Solo. I knwo they look great, my main concern is basically the lower back support, like low hip area? No, I will not use a back rest. They appear to have that lip on the very back, so I am hoping it will provide some help.
Thanks!
