I have mine mounted on the bars closer to the center clamp. Lessens vibration and keep the GPS unit closer to the fairing instead of sticking up in the air.

Can't help ya on the GPS mount but by any chance you didn't happen to be at a house close to Silo Run golf course on Rockford rd. today??

I was not at a house but we did pass through that area around 4 to 5 pm today. Just our exploring new areas and enjoying a nice cruise.

Are you using the XM radio with this? where did you put the antenna?

I have mine mounted just like MM has in his pic below. Holes in an inner fairing are FOREVER.

I use a Ram-Mount system on my handlebars.

I did the mount on top so it would not be affected by add ons like the hogtune tweeterpods... Easy to see, vibration (no more that then the handlebars..i tried both) YMMV!
