Default Ignition wont lock...

... Today while out riding, we stopped and I went to lock my ignition switch with my key and it wouldn't lock. After returning home, I grabbed my spare key and tryed locking it with that one and it still would not lock. Any of you guys run into this problem or have advice? Thanks in advance.

Exactly what did you do...what do you mean by lock? The cylinder won't turn or what?

Did you turn forks all the way to the left, turn **** to lock position, insert key and push down and turn key to lock?

Thats exactly what I did... When I push down and go to turn the key it does not want to turn as if I had the wrong key for it

Try putting graphite powder lubricant into the lock. Since you have an 06, did you have the 2006 touring fork lock recall completed? PM me your VIN and I can punch it in and see if the recall was completed on your bike if you don't know.

Had the same problem. The cylinder is off line. Mine was done when I had the forks lowered and the lowers installed. Took about 2 mintes @ the dealer to realign.

PM sent, you haven't had the fork lock recall done yet, your VIN still shows an open campaign for this.

The clutch cable can cause this as well not allowing the forks to turn full left lock.

There was a recall for certain years on this. My 06 UC had a defective lock.
