Default Garmin 660 on meh bike :)

Here is two pics of the new garmin 660 on me bike.

wired power from headlamp extra power/ground wires
when bike is powered off(turned off) Garmin tells me it lost power
and will turn off in 30 seconds or press button to continue on battery
power(of the garmin unit itself)

garmin 660 unit has it's own speaker so I have not run it into
my sound system yet

Where did you get it from? I can't find a single online retailer that has any in stock. Looks good on your bike, about as big as a dang laptop.

Your best bet is to join AMA (American Motorcyclist Association), then go to the Member Benefits page on the AMA website. You'll find a link to Garmin, where you can buy the Zumo 660 at the Garmin Employee price (which is 20% off MSRP).

Here's a link to a thread on the Zumoforums that tells you how to order in more detail.

I've got one too, and I love this unit!

I'm about to pull the trigger on a GPS unit myself. What does the 660 do that a 550 can't do?

Just curious as to what's been upgraded.

There's lots of info on the www.Zumoforums.com , but I cut and pasted some info from a recent review from another used:

The biggest plus is the larger screen
Lane assist
Speed Limit indicator for main roads (tells you how fast you're supposed to be going )
Next turn indicator on the top left
Customizable lower tabs where you can select what you want to see (speed, distance traveled, arrival time, time to arrival, etc.)
Faster boot up time, regardless of MP 3 files and photos on SD card
Faster map drawing time
Larger buttons for navigation with gloves
Fewer buttons to navigate menus.
MP3 muting simple to do
Brightness and master volume access 1 touch, tap power button (Additional mixer option in menus, i.e.: Separate Navigation/MP 3 volume)
Mount: BIG PLUS Very solid and much more user friendly. No screws just one snap.
Dual audio and mic jacks (Cable or unit, some may not like the cable but it does offer unique setup options)
Internal storage capacity is much greater
Battery removal (no tools needed)
Screen detail greatly enhanced
Satellite aquisition screen is very detailed with sats/coords/speed/elevation and accuracy (Hold sat signal 4 sec to bring this up)
3 route choices viewable at one time. (with detailed mileage and time)

Check out the Zumoforums for more info, lots of experienced users there that are happy to answer your questions, and there is a lot of info on the 550 there too.

To me the 660 sounds like a down grade from the 550. I think I will be sticking with the 550.
