Default Garmin Nuvi power source

I know there are a million threads on this, but I don't feel like searching. I mounted a Garmin Nuvi 200 on my '09 FLHX with a Ram mount on the left handlebar. I am currently using the battery and want to hard wire the unit. I tried the cigarette lighter but the plug hits the tank when I turn the handlebars to the left. What is everyone using to hard wire their Garmin's?
Thanks!

Default USB hardwire

Gilsson GUSB5V-B Direct Wire 12-30V DC Hardwire Pigtail Cable

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...Tpk=58-985-014

I bought this and wired it to the backside of my cigarette lighter inside the fairing. Then ran the usb part out to my Garmin 750.

Works great.

Default Nuvi

Yes, it works just like any USB.
I use it on my Gamin NUVI 750, and by connecting it to the cigarette lighter it cuts off with the bike. So you don't forget and run your bike's battery down <grin>

You run it inside your fairing to the back of the lighter? If so, how did you connect the wires to the lighter? Thanks!

Did you try a low profile lighter adapter first? On the Nuvi, the traffic recvr is a part of the power dongle. If you wire this in behind the fairing then it will be difficult to move to another application.

The traffic recvr antenna is a high$ item, are you sure you want to put it on the bike in such a way that it cant easily be moved?

My Nuvi 765T just arrived yesterday. Powerlet for a clean install.
