Hi Sniper,
From one Brit to another these are not quite legal in the UK but I never had a problem on my old bike (Yam Wildstar). Come MOT time it was simply a question of unplug the unit and change the lenses from red back to orange.
I presume the fitment for HD is similar, hopefully someone who has fitted this unit to a HD will give their opinion.

I am using the Harley rear brake/running light optional light bar.
You can not miss these
Chrome License Plate / Light Kit
Tubular license plate housing includes dual filament (running lights/brake) and supplementary rear lights. Includes all mounting hardware. These lights should be installed as supplemental only.

I got some LED's off ebay , 38 -39 Ford Tear Drop tail lights , use them as running lights and brake lights, they do a great job , only about $65.00 a pair and added them my self. Photobucket has my pictures. Check them out , they are great for had bags. There are many more than the ones i picked.
