97 RK Gorilla clutch
A buddy just bought an 97 Road King. The clutch pull on it is very firm and the lever is about 5 inches form the handlebar. Is this normal for a Road King? He also has a 92 Dyna and it's clutch is much easier. I was thinking perhaps the cable was binding or just too old. I had a Honda in the past that had a hard clutch and a new cable was the fix. Does this sound like a possibility? Any other solutions for a heavy clutch pull. A dealer told him there was a device for newer bikes to make the pull easier, but not for his year.

You can get a White Bros. Lite Pull clutch kit that is similar to the HD one. It simply goes in the tranny side cover where the ball and ramp assembly is. It will work on 87-99 EVO's. Google it. That along with a new cable if needed or a good lube of the existing cable and you'll notice a big difference. I put one on my 04 prior to getting a VPC.
