Default oil coolers and oil pressure question

So, for those of you with oil coolers, I have a few questions.

Ok, so I've read the many posts on oil coolers and pretty much decided I want to add one to my Roadglide. (don't need to argue this point anymore) My question has to do with oil pressure.

With an oil cooler, should I expect the same oil pressure as without? I mean there is extra area that the oil is traveling to and from with an oil cooler. I'm assuming the oil pressure will not be affected during normal operating times.

But, what about at start up? Since the oil has a longer way to travel before it circulates, does it take longer for the oil to reach all of the critical components and get up to the normal oil pressure? Any problems with this? From the posts I reads thru, appears this is a non issue but just wanted to make sure I check before shelling out the money for the oil cooler.

Also, how much more oil will the crankcase hold with the Harley Oil Cooler (the one I'm planning on going with) Maybe a quart or less more oil?

I add the HD oil coolers and a fairing Oil temp gauge to all the performance baggers I build. There is no adverse effects on start-up or cold run whatsoever. The internal thermostat won't allow oil from the filter to the cooler through the filter adapter plate, until it opens around 190. You'll only be adding maybe a 1/4 qt more to the system.
Being from Ca. you have made the correct choice in deciding to add one.
The HD kit is a nice kit and easy to install.
Good luck

I have the 10 row Jagg on my EGC. No issues with startup, hot or cold. Oil pressure is same as before.
The Jagg adds about 8oz more to the supply.

I had an oil cooler on my '05 EGC. That bike took 4 quarts exactly on an oil change.

This new '09 RK holds exactly 3.5 quarts. Now I know one was a TC88 and this one is a TC 96 but I do think that extra half quart was for the oil cooler on my EGC. Someone correct me here if I'm wrong...

Oil pressure should not be effected by an oil cooler. Start-up shouldn't either.

I added the exact same cooler to my RG last year. I also installed a temp guage with the sender in the bottom of the pan. There is a lot of info here on this if you search. Everything stated so far is true IMO. I can add that my oil temp runs at 190 in the summer and maxes out at 230 in slow riding situations. It quickly goes back to 190 as soon as I get moving again. Adding a cooler is one of the best upgrades you can make for the longevity of your motor. The argument against coolers is gradually loosing steam as time goes by and more information comes forward. Donny Peterson's latest book has a complete chapter on coolers. He strongly believes is them as do I.
