Thumbs up Wild1 513s on 08 RG

Hi All,

I thought that I sould post some pics of the Wild 1 Chubby 513s on the RG.

It's been raining here for a week. I got bored so I decided to put these on. All wiring has been run inside of the handlebars (a must do with these).

The hardest part was making sure that I re-wired the Molex connectors correctly that I had to remove from the inner fairing so I could snake the wires through the handlbars. Since I did not have the HD special tool to remove the pins, I used a pin vise with a length of paper clip wire to make my own Molex pin removal tool.

I am really glad that I did this. The bars feel great and I can't wait to put some miles on the bike.

All stock wiring fit perfectly. All I had to do was relocate the brake line and clutch cable to the outside of the instrument nacelle.

If you take your time, you can definitely do this yourself. I took a couple of days becuse I was not in a hurry and I love working on my own bikes.

Forgot to add that you must put a spacer in the brake lever so you don't damage the brake microswitch before removing the front brake lever.

The bars sound nice. What is the wrist angle on them compared to the stock 08 Rg bars? I'd like to get pull backs but the heritage bars seem like they would strain my wrist. I need something more like the stock bars. Thanks,Rick

So is the most you can get in height with stock cables sounds like about 2"....

Does that sound right?

I also want some that I can run the wires internally?

Wild 1 reccomends that if you go with the 10 inch rise then you will need a longer brake line. The 513s have a 8 1/2 inch rise.

My stock cables/wiring worked perfect. I did reroute the clutch and brake cables/lines outside of the instrument nacelle to make things loose enough for turning the handlebars.

There are many opinions on RG bars but I think the fit/finish of the Wild 1 Chubbys are top shelf. They are very comfortable.

Default 513 Bars

I also had the 513's on my RG, but, eventually, changed them out to the 517s. I found the bars too wide for my 33" arms. The 517's are a lot narrower. Picture of bike with 513's
