I'm looking at buying an F-250 with the short bed (6.5 feet). Has anyone had experience putting a Street Glide in the back, and closing the tailgate (on an angle perhaps). Or...is my only option to leave the tailgate down with her rear end exposed?

I put my RK in the back of my truck and went to Daytona, it was 8 went I left MI. The one thing I noticed was the weight of the rear wheel was putting alot of weight on the tailgate, I put the rear wheel on a 2x6 that extended into the bed and that distributed the weight and solved my problem. The bike rode fine there and back.
What do dogs and harleys have in common? They both like to ride in the back of a pick up. As mentioned with gate down it will bow from the weight. Dont think it will fit on an angle with bags on it and still close the gate.

Yes I have done this a few times
The tailgate will not go up. It might if you get the bike sideways.
I would take the tailgate off put the bike in then put the tailgate back on.
You will bend the gate if rolling the bike on the gate
When I bought mine it was suppossed to rain that day and I didn't want my first ride on the new bike to be in the rain. So I loaded the VTX in the back of my GMC 1500 and drove two hours to pick up the new SG. They took the VTX out and put the SG in and I brought it home. It rode in the back just fine tailgate down. I don't think I could get it in there and close the gate.
