Default Highway Pegs on Ultra

I have just traded in my 94 Ultra for and 05 Ultra. I'm trying to figure out which mounting brackets I need for my highway pegs. It might be my imagination but the engine gaurd seems further away on the 05. I've tried to hold my feet up and have my wife show me about where they come to but that's not working out to good. I'm 5'10" and trying to figure out if I need one of the brackets that make the pegs closer. What do ya'll have on you Ultras and how do you like them?

Check out eglidegoodies. com

They have some mounts that will bring the pegs a lil closer.

My dealer had some longer Kuryakyn mounts that I bought to use with the HD pegs that I bought. They bring the pegs to the perfect position for me (I'm about 5'9). I had to do some grinding on the Kuryakyn mounts (where they meet the bars themselves, because as they came, the bracket was not round, and was not mating up well with the bar. I couldn't get the hinge closed enough to get more than one or two threads in there, which was not enough. Five minutes of grinding and all was well. They are in the perfect position now. I'll try to post some pics if I get a chance.

Thanks, this is the kind of information I'm needing. I went to the HD dealer yesterday and the only bracket that I found that look ok was what they called short angle. It brings the pegs back about 3" but I'm wondering how it will look when I take the lowers off this summer.

I used the same set-up from my 2000 on my 05, no difference.

This my sound stupid but..........I'm looking at a set of clamps that my buddy gave me to use on my ultra when it comes in and it looks like you could mount in two ways. With the peg mount on front side of the bar or with the peg mount to the rear side. It would be either 1 1/2" forward of bar or 1 1/2" aft of bar. Hope I explained that right, these mounts split in two and have four screws to couple the halves back together. Page 611 in HD drem book shows them as part # 50903-85T

Your right, I look at them in the book. From looking in the book I couldn't tell just how far they would set the pegs back. An inch and half might be enough to let me reach the pegs. That's almost the same setup I had on my 94. It was a little stretch for me but it looked good and worked alright. It just almost seems like the seat is further back on the 05 though.

I have an 04 Ultra and I have the Kuryakyn Quick Clamps with the Magnum 1/2" extended mounts and the Iso-Blades. I am 6'3" and I think they are perfect. Kuryakyn also makes a mount that swivels 360 degrees so you can put them just where you need them. The 95 and 05 should have the same bars.

Hope that helps.....

Another possibility is Rivco Products. Look for the link for Highway Mounts and Pegs. They have a product HD005 that mounts in about a hundred different combinations. Web link photos don't do them much justice, but they sure look nice in the printed catalog. May get a set for my '05...
Here is the link that came up when I browsed to their page:

https://helene.affordablehost.com/~r...ndex.php?id=44

This is to their online store. Hope this helps - or provides another option at least.
