New shocks-whats the best?

I've talked with Works Performance and Progressive the last 2 days. I'm probably going with Progressive 418's, but both companies are on backorder for 3 weeks. I'm a dealer so price isn't really an issue, or buying from another dealer, I just want to be sure the ride quality is decent. I'm going to give the Penske's a look and decide on something definite on Monday.

Jay..Not trying to discourage you, but I installed a Arnott system on my roadking about a month ago and I'm going to remove it. It has to be the stiffed ride I have ever had any dealings with. I have played with the air pressure in every range possible and nothing seems to work. Hit a small bump in the road and it's like hitting a parking lot speed bump. It's like there's no cushion at all. Feels like 2 pieces of bare metal slamming together.

I'm waiting on a set of Ohlins from Howard now. I've run the stockers, 440s, and Works Performance. You get what you pay for. It's like anything else.
Pay junk prices, get junk, but I say do it right the first time. I didn't.

Ohlins
I had the 11-1/2" progressive 430's on my '08 FLHX. I sold them and bought 12" Ohlins. I couldn't be happier. No more scraping my floorboards in every corner and definetly a better ride. www.motorcyclemetal.com

Race-Tech in front and Penske in the rear. Have it done at a real suspension shop as listed on race-tech's website. Your bagger will be the only one there amongs a boatload of ducati's and other performance bikes but you will have that suspension like most Harley riders never experience.

I agree with h_dmagic.

As far as the race-tech gold valve kit, I have it and feel like I wasted my money. Sure it is better than stock, but it's far from good. I'm close to buying either the x-factor kit from www.motorcyclemetal.com or the traxxion dynamics kit from www.traxxion.com . I wouldn't suggest anyone buying/wasting money on a race-tech kit. JUNK as far as I am concerned. I have 25 years experience with motorcycles from the ground up, so as far as a qualified shop, I can honestly say, I am qualified enough for the SIMLPE fork kit on the 1975 technology of the HD forks. I am looking forward to which ever fork kit I decide on, so that I can get the race-tech junk out of my bike.
