Leaving Friday to go west, What to look for in four courners?
My bike buddy and I are leaving on Friday to go Va to Ca and pass through on routes 50 to St. Louis, 44 to Oklahoma City and 40 till a jog up to Vegas(we are stageing there about a week). I have heard that the four corners is a place not to miss yet haven't found much info on where to go around there.

I am on my coast to coast - left CA on the 13th - Savannah and now riding back home,,, trying to stay dry...
4 corners area.... A neat place to lay down on the big marker and have a each leg and arm in a different state.... don't be shy - get a good photo - actually this spot is in the middle of NO Where - local Indians were there when we were there... other than the "spot" not much... as you ride south and west... must see is pretrified Forest... watch out for possible HEAVY cross winds.. This time of year can be tough... I cam through there on April 15 - at 0800 cross winds were sustained at just over 30mph and gust up to just over 50mph...
Also, if you have not see the grand canyon... of course, a must... enjoy Vegas... watch the gagers there... if you have time... ride "Red Canyon" just west of Vegas...
We are now in Oklahoma City - tomorrow's weather will tell us to ride north or west...

Just heard on the news that the 4 corners spot could be in the wrong place. It's a big debate going on with the new GPS and all. That spot was put there a long long time ago. I wouldn't be surprised if it were off like they are saying. Google the 4 corners and read the news this week about it. have a safe trip

If you have the time hit Utah. Lots of great roads and great scenery. If you came across 70, cut south thru Moab. Keep going south and continue on to Monument Valley or head west and end up in St. George. Spent a week in Utah last summer and it was great. Good roads with very little traffic and the scerery couldn't be any better. If you are that close and have the time you'd be crazy not to go. In my opinion Vegas and Nevada are ugly, with long straight boring roads. Dave

Mesa Verde Natl. Park is a must see while you're in the 4 corners area. It might be a little early in the year but riding over to Durango,Teluride,Silverton Co. is some of the prettiest country you'll ever see, just check the weather but probably still a lot of cold and snow on the ground.I'd drop down to the North Rim and come back up through Southern Utah,Escalante,Capital Reef, Canyon Lands ,Goose Necks of the San Juan,Arches,Zion, Bryce Canyon ,and on to Vegas. It's already hitting the 80's in S. Utah ,some beautiful country there. I'm heading to Huntington Beach Ca. Mem. Day weekend and plan on playing around down there on the retun trip. For what it's worth the 15 day forecast for Moab Ut. is Mid to upper 70's to 90 deg. sunny with a slight chance of a thunder shower which in 90 deg. weather an afternoon cloudburst is a good thing.
