I have only just over 3000 miles on my 408f but it still looks almost new. I just cant get past the fact that the tread is backwards from how it was designed to run.

I also have the 408f on my 09 SG. Got it last week so it's too early to see if any probs. Re: the tire bulletin that JerryF posted on page 5 of this thread...any idea whose bulletin it is?? Doesn't have any Harley indicators on it, and my dealer (who I trust-friends with the GM and my boss owns the store) told me he can't find any record of such bulletin--gonna see what he can do for me though. (FYI, boss owns an 09 RG SE with the 407f)

Heres another question for ya. A friend of mine ordered a new rear Dunlap for his Sportster from J&P. When he was mounting it he noticed it was stamped made in Indoniasa. (or some foreign country) I thought Dunlap tires were made in the USA? Anyway it only lasted 4000 miles!

I had the 407 on my bike originally. It had 7800 miles on it since October. No wear problems. Picked up a nail. 408 was installed. I have about 1000 miles on it with no isues. I have ridden in the rain a couple of times with no problems.

On my last bike I used to install Avon Venom tires. Those had "reverse thread" technology wich they claim as better wet traction and that technology came from Moto GP. I'm still looking for the info but I never had any problem with them even in heavy rain. Now, I have the Dunlop D407 on my EGC and while it shows cupping, I have almost 12000 miles on it. Going to have to change it soon. If I can find the info on "reverse thread" design again I'll post it here.
