Gotta see how this one turns out getting out my Camera now...

Mine is an 08 Electra with a D402F Dunlop little bit different tread style so not much help there .. but would sure think one of them is wrong anyway...

Harley has changed to the D408 tires on the front due to cupping problems. The rotation has been reversed and tire renamed to correct the rotation label on the sidewall. Below is a copy of text from the notice. Do a search for Dunlop 408!

TT400 – January 29, 2009 – Front Tire Running Change 2009 Models
Front Tire Running Change 2009 Models
There will be a running change to the front tire on 2009 models. Dunlop D407F front
tires will be changing over to D408F tires during the first half of calendar year 2009. The
primary difference between the two constructions is the direction of the tread. This will
be executed as a running change for MY2009. The D408F tire will offer improved tire
wear for some customers over the D407F.

Sounds like answer to the question then... Different direction of the tread says it all...

D407s -- If I had them I would be running to the dealer demanding a replacement ASAP. These tires have uneven wear characteristics:

Title: Re: 09 serg wobble

Started having it when I let off the throttle. Also noticed that my front tire was cupping. The new D407's are doing this. The trailing edge of the pattern is wearing much more than the leading edge. My tire whe inspected closely was almost bald at the trailing edge pattern while the leading edge was quite healthy. I check tire pressure every 2 weeks and go by the book. Well, appears there is an alert out and I got a warranty replacement with the new D408 tire. Wobble is gone!

Be pi$$ed! They should have tested this crap before using riders as QA testers.

Has to be mislabeled, there's no other explanation. I gotta see what B.S. the dealer come up with to try and get out of replacing those tires for free. If you pay one red cent you should be furious.

Oops, should've read the whole thread, my bad. Still, why do 3 09 touring bikes show a different tread pattern, they are 3 09s right?

On my '09 SG, the back tire is like the blue bikes tire and the front is like the red bikes tire....

I am just hoping they make Elite 3's available for the 09 touring in the near future. I had them on my old ride and thought it was one of the best I ever rode on.

Mine has the tread pattern direction of the red bike.

On my 09 FLTR I have the D407F and it looks like the photo of the red bike. I have thus far no wear issues to speak of. Note that on Dawgs reply, HD says that "The D408F tire will offer improved tire wear for some customers over the D407F." That doesn't sound too serious to me. I'll monitor the wear more closely now though.
