Default V&H Monster Ovals VS Tapered slip-on's

Going to install slip-on's '09' FLHTCU, any opinion on which of the two is loudest? Read that ezriderpgh was going to install, how did it work out?

I can tell you that the Monster Ovals have a nice deep sound to them and is the sweetest sound coming from an exhaust that I have heard in a long time. If you purchase them you will not be dissapointed.

Thinking about the Monster Ovals after get in a little better financial status for now, the True Duals with Pythons Slips will have to work which don't sound bad...

+1 Love my Monster Ovals, well worth the money. Try Eastern Performance for good pricing.

Love my MO's also!! Read alot of different threads and was concerned after I bought them that they might be to loud. well after about 300 miles they certainly have a really nice throaty tone when accelerating, but at cruise they're just right and I can still hear radio clearly!!

The tapered will be louder. both pipes are not excessively loud, they are both plugged baffle designs, the extra volume of the MOs give them deeper sound. The tapers will have a sharper sound.

I've been told that with any slip-on, AC/fuel pack/retuning isn't needed!
What is the reason for these additions if they are not necessary?

Thats right, you dont need any sort of tuner at stg 1 according to S&S. I tend to beleive them.

The exhaust broke on my 09 and I was running without mufflers at all, just straight out of the headers, and the bike had heaps of power used less fuel.

It didnt seem to run hotter either, it was mid summer here and i had no heat issues.
