Default Problems w/ Lock for Leather Tour Pack

Got my leather tour pack for my rk and was excited! Mounted it on the rack, got it on the bike, and LOVED IT. The next week the lock came. Today, I spent about 6-7 hour attempting installation, and for the life of me, can't get the locking mechanism to work correctly. The bag sticks/catches as the top and bottom are not "true", doesn't seem to be sufficiently "square", can't shorten the cable enough to work the locking mechanism and am all around disappointed! When I close it, I must force it closed, marking the leather, and must force it open to a lound snapping noise but has not damaged the mechanism. All of this I might add, to my chagrin after the price I paid for the limited peace of mind the lock offers.

If anyone has suggestions, options, work-arounds, similar experiences or something to offer in the way of advice or help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Default RE: Problems w/ Lock for Leather Tour Pack

1. Drink more
2. Don't follow the step-by-step directions, just look at the pictures
3. Use a bigger hammer

Has always worked for me...
