I wear a pair of 7-eye transitions. Great from sun to shade. But, I also wear a Caberg helmet with a build in sun visor. Better when I turn west into the setting sun. One flip and the sun seems to disappear.

 

I use a pair of Liberty sport sunglasses ,the Eagle model. Poly-carbonate,transition lenses,120.00 for the frames,believe they cost me 350.00 total. They have several designs for the motorcycle rider.Nylon frames, work great in the rain especially if you have a helmet with a snap on visor. I have a Clark's Custom Windshield 11" light tint,flattop.No problems looking through it or over the top when its raining,no wind buffeting. I've gone the clip on route, terrible in the rain or dirt,even sweat gets in between your glasses and the clipon and your half blind.

 

I have prescription sunglasses and do fine now. I'm 5'10 with 1" additional lowering and stock seat on my bike and bought an 8" Fastaire for winter only riding but wanted something taller than the stock 4" for warm weather as I had experienced a little of the infamous "buffeting" that affected by ability to be able to see and focus properly. I just installed a 6.5" KW and did 350 miles with it on Saturday at varying speeds and am very satisfied.

 

Those WileyX's look interesting might have to go about seeing how much they are. Are the foam seals worth it? Do the Transitions lenses work good, never had them?

Are the Klock Werks reaaly worth $169? The Clearview is "only" $100 and the Custom FLH Windshields is only $50 (no recurve). Besides he Klock Werks is out of stock.

Never ends does it? $100 windshield, $250-500 Rx sunglasses, $200 new helmet, $1000 stage 1, etc, etc.

 

I have Wiley-Xs...I wouldn't get them again. They fit OK with the foam pads in place, but don't fit for sh*t without them (they're plumb against my eyelashes), and they were ridiculously expensive. The curved lense results in a lot of distortion. Very disconcerting, and took a lot of getting used to. On cold days they fog badly. I was happier with the regular old "shooting glasses" style with the earpieces that hook over the ears.

 

7-eye prescription glasses are available at my local Harley dealer. They are perfect with the transition lenses so you can use them day/night. They come with the removable foam inserts that you don't really need if you use a windshield but they are nice to have in case you ever hop on your buddy's Dyna for a ride! I tried on the Wiley X but preferred the 7-Eye brand and they are top-notch. I run a 9.5 inch HD shield that is great for protection but I can still see over it. No difference in "buffeting" than the stock 12 inch shield for me.

 

+1 on the Wiley's. Wear them all the time.

 

It doesn't end and that's the fun of it. When the desire for something new for my motorcycle does end, they may as well dig the hole and put me in it.
KW windshield wasn't worth $169 to me either. Bought from these people, no tax and free shipping and had an 8% off my next purchase coupon from ebay so all 3 factors did made it worthwhile.

I wear Rx - bifocals wraparound sunglasses. My old pair - same frame different lens - were polarized single vision and I couldn't see the GPS nor even the speedometer. The polarization caused artifacts when looking out the windshield and on the dials and gauges so I did not get polarization on this set. So far I really like these for riding. For driving the cars I have Serengeti Drivers single vision.

My recommendation - if you get Rx wrap around - verify the prescription once you get them back. Not everyone can grind wrap around lens.
