I changed my rear tire to a Metzler last year and the difference was night and day. I still have the dumlap on the front but simply changing the rear made such a big difference. I'll be putting Metzlers on it from now on. The only problem I have with them is that I bought a bunch of stuff from this silly Head Quarters company and now my rear tire doesn't last as long...

I would put my money on the wheels as the problem
Nope. A switch to Metzlers is the fix.

Yeah, I learned of the Metzler fix for rain groove wobble over 20 years ago from some guys from Colorado. Put them on the Sporty and never had another problem.

This now makes since to me. My buddy and I went on a little 300 mile ride the other day. We hit about a 10 mile stretch of new rain grooved highway. My bike felt like it was all over the place on straight and really on curved. Really uncomfortable at 70mph. Asked my buddy if his bike felt the same way (Ultra) and he said no. He's always run Metzlers on his bike. I run the stock Dunlops.

Thanks for the info guys!

There is another solution - trade for an 09---- they are solid as a rock no matter what ;-)

I just had the Elite 3s put on my Ultra last Friday.
Put about 500 miles on over the weekend, steady highway cruising and back roads and they have definitely made a difference over the 402s.
Now if they get better mileage I'll be synced because I got an average of 13,000 on my two rear tires and 26,000 on my front which I thought was good.
I installed the TWR brace last year.

I put the Metzlers on my 05 road king over the winter and it's night and day from the stock tires I had on. I would like to try the E3's next from what members are saying. I installed a brace last summer and it helped but not what the tires did! I also kept a very close eye on my air pressure in the tires and rear shocks.

I put the Michelin's on my bike, I was having the same problem with the Dunlops. Problem now fixed!
