This thread can either go to the positive or negative real quick. There's ALWAYS two sides to any story . I'm not going to post my version and feelings on this situation. This s not the place to do it. I posted primarily to find out what could be the problem. As most know, trust is a big issue regarding mechanics & motorcycle shops. No need to go there. We've all had our problems. I had what I considered my reasons to be skeptible regarding a young man of his age doing this build. His Father is one of the best mechanics Around. What I will say is this, let's just see what the outcome is and try to focus on the problem at hand. No doubt he's very knowledgeable regarding the situation so lets take what he has wrote and try to resolve the problem with the wet sump rather than turning this into a pissing match.

He has every right to defend his reputation and, it sounds like they are really into customer satisfaction. Hopefully everyone in happy in the end.

Now, reading HD110s post it is pretty darn clear that the "kid" knows more about twin cams than me and you put together mate. My BS meter was on a solid 0 when I read his post. He has nailed all the possible sources of your dramas and seems to be having a go at fixing them. Not sure that you can ask for more than that. Cant blame him for getting on here and telling his side of things, can you??
++++1 I think the indy in this case is more than credible, he's sincere as well, as said he could've just sent the guy right back out the door with the same problem he came in with, except these indy's know what they are doing and found the problems.

As far as age, some of our men and women in uniform are only that age and defending our country, I see no reason this young man can't build a motor and build it right.

+1 I was just thinking the same thing.

HD110 Where is your shop located and just out of curiosity do you build older engines, like panheads?
