Default Clearview Windshield arrived....Review

31 days from the day it was ordered it finally arrived Friday. Looks like Clearview is getting caught up on the backlog a little.

Installed the 8" Recurve in Dark Grey today on the Ultra and took it for a 175 mile test run. Fit and finish is excellent, very nice quality.

We had 20-30 mph winds blowing today in Oklahoma (Imagine That !!) so I got a good chance to see what this windshield is all about. All I can say is WOW !!

Very nice rider pocket of "clean " air. Seems to have solved the bobblehead syndrome. No more double vision at speed. I'm 5'9" sitting on a Mustang dual touring seat for reference, and if I raised my head up about 6-8" I could really feel the wind beating on me. But as long as I was sitting down in the "pocket" it was very pleasant.

Very happy with this purchase, Clearview is everything they advertised.

So you're looking through the shield, instead of over it? I just installed a 10 1/2" Clearview with recurve on my Ultra and although it improved the buffeting, it didn't cure it. This size shield is exactly right for me to be able to look over it, which is the way I prefer to see the road. I think if it had a bit more recurve, that would fix it for me.

Glad yours worked out.

No I'm looking over it by several inches. I dont think anything short of putting a cab on the bike will eliminate wind buffeting 100%. Its still a motorcycle after all.

That being said, Ive tried the stock windshield, a 9.5" non recurve, and an 8" non recurve. The 8" recurve is the best by far out of all I've tried.

I switched to the 6.5 clockwerks. I think it's better than the 8" recurve. I've been really impressed.

OK I have a Road GLide so maybe tyhis doesn't apply but here gopes. The stocker stinks...period. Jhad a 16" Cee Bailey TSSc, GREAT shield, too short for me. Got a +2 Clearview Recurve, blem, 20% off cannot see any blem on it! What a wonderful piece of equipment this is! ZERO buffeting! Nice fresh pocket of riding air for me and I can see over it by 2 to 3 inches. Rode over 300 miles with it today, THIS is the keeper!

My experience as well.

I had already cut the stocker down to 8 1/2", the 10.5" Clearview has about the same buffetting. I realize a lot of it is comming from under the fairing. I may try those adjustable fairing louvers next.

I recently purchased a 15 inch recurve for my 2019 Heritage classic from Clearview to call it a recurve is a false statement. I measured mine and got .125 recurve. Most recurve have at least .5 or more. Sent Clearview a message and no response. Sent John from Freedom shields a message on Sunday afternoon and got a reply the same day. Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten.

I had a Clearview on my SGS and was less than impressed. Switched to LRS Thresher and was much happier. Disappointed as I had heard about and wanted a Clearview for awhile.
