I know the feeling, my wife is from Climax , Michigan. Don't think I don't get mileage out of that

I'm from Tennessee too and I've never heard of Toad Lick. There are tons of licks, hollers, ridges, ect. with crazy names all over Tennessee.

Buck snort, TN is where you want to go. Just west of Nashville.

There's a place in KY called Beaver Lick (I have a Hat) but you can't locate it on a map. It's down the road from Big Bone Lick State Park. I also have a hat. Beautiful area of KY. I asked, at the park, why there were so many towns with lick in them and they told me it was because of the large salt deposits in the area. The mammoths used the deposits as salt licks for survival. Some didn't make it thus the big bones. I believe it but it also makes the area a target rich environment for a t-shirt run.

I also recomend Rabbit Hash Ky. Its a beautiful turn in the road in an historic area with a general store (all sorts of commemorative items). It's on the bank of the Ohio River and a great destination on a weekend (many bikes at any given time).

Lived my whole life in Tennessee and I've never heard of Toad Lick. There are lots of interesting places out there to be discovered if a person has the time.
