Default Rattle at Idle?

I've noticied something wierd on my 09 SG, when at a light depending on if I have the brakes held or not determines how much it vibrates. If Im sitting with no brakes or only the rear brake it is pretty smooth, but if I hold the front brake the vibrations increase quite a bit and I hear a metallic rattle that seem to come from the right side rear of the bike. Only happens when the front brake is help, any ideas?

Most of the time it's a muffler mounting bracket (on mine) making that noise.

check the mounting bolts on the rear caliper, if they are loose the caliper will rattle and its heavy enough to cause vibration. Holding your rear brake on keeps it from moving.

check asap to ensure it doesn't cause an unsafe condition and torque them to spec.

I've noticed the vibration while holding the front brake, also. The only rattle I've found on mine (so far) is from the shift lever.

Same here on my '09 FLHX. It is coming from my left handgun housing. When I put my hand on it, it goes away. It is odd.

In case this can help someone in the future, I figured out the problem. the bolt holding the front bracket for the right side saddle bag had fallen out so the bracket was banging against the mounting surface.
