Vibration mostly, may cause crossover exhaust pipe to crack if not repaired.

It's located behind the voltage regulator. Unplug the stator and remove the two nuts that secure the VR to the frame. Lift the VR off and you can visually inspect the front motor mount. Basically, you are looking to see if the rubber is cracked or other signs of damage.

Replacing it is not a difficult DIY.

Cool, thanks for the responses. I have an oil cooler I need to install anyway, so I can check it out before I add the cooler.

If I need one, any thoughts on a replacement? Stock or is there a better aftermarket out there?

I have a 00EGC and have changed 2 mounts in the past 3 years. I did a full vehicle alignment in my garage 3 weeks ago with some string and the bike is much, much smoother.

Thanks for the suggested thread on the mounts...unfortunately I have no idea which mount is the better. I give credit to everyone who tried different mounts and posted their opinions but it seems like it is still questionable which mount lasts the longest and cut some of the vibrations. Mine is definately cracked and needs replacing. Now to choose one...
