Just wondering if any of you guys took off your lower belt guard? Is it safe to go without it...It just looks so much better without it

 

Lots of threads on this. The belt guard prevents road debris from being thrown up between the pulleys and the belt.

If you get a shredded belt b/c of this you will be p1ssed. Expensive to fix, too.

never felt the need to take it off my bagger because it hides under the saddlebag. but I went 32k miles without one on my dyna and 60k on my 91 sporty without one and never had a problem...take it off and stick it to "The Man" we don't need his false promises of safety...Nothing safe about motorcyles...ride hard, ride fast, ride often
