Default Nolan N42E N-Com Helmet w/Bluetooh - Need Opinions

Pretty spendy helmet when you add the bluetooth so I was wondering what everyone's experience has been with this setup. Is it worth the cash?

I want to get one for myself and the wife so we can communicate on rides.

Nolan makes very good helmets and their electronics are top notch.

I'd recommend trying a helmet on before buying though as all manufactures fit differently.

No opinions from someone who has used this?

Well I have a Nolan N42 N-Com helmet, but without the N-Com stuff. I want to get the N-Com setup, but haven't had the money lately. So I can't help you there, but I can tell you that the helmet itself is VERY good. N-Com or not, I would still have this helmet. It's very comfortable and fits my head good. I especially like the sun visor, which comes in very handy. If you have any specific questions about the helmet, I'd be happy to answer the best you can. PM me.

rode with the Nolan for about a year..Pros...Bluetooth..light..shield did ok in the cold(no magor foggy issues)..Cons..venting was not the greatest...tinted shield flipped up for night riding and acted like an air foil..couldn't find a replacement liner anywhere
...and kinda noisy at speed...I rode about 15K miles with this helmet and if I didn't find something else it would still be my daily choice but I have since made the switch to a HJC IS-33 better helmet IMO and I'll get a scalia or some other bluetooth designed for helmets if I decide I need it..

I just bought the N42E without the electronics, helmet it's self is very comfortable. I took the shaded visor off after one ride..didn't care for it. A friend is waiting for his bluetooth stuff to come in, I'll post after he gives me some idea how he likes it.

Are you and the wife on the same bike? Because you don't need to get the bluetooth version if that's the case...that could save you a couple hundred bucks...two helmets two basic kits and an intercom kit in your helmet...might be an easier pill to swallow that way...

I have a Nolan N42 N-Com helmet as well. I bought it for winter riding and I was planning on buying the communications for it. After using the helmet I didn't waste the money. It was so loud in that helmet that I wouldn't have been able to hear it. I've always worn a half helmet and when I put this helmet on all I could hear was road noise and my pipes. I had to crank the stereo so loud to hear it that people on the road around me were giving me funny looks. Now it spends a lot of time in the garage while I still wear my old half helmet.
