You may want to first try Kerosene or WD 40 as I had this same problem on my truck a few years ago and it came right off.Called the highway department and they recommended kerosene.I would stay away from acetone or lacquer thinner unless a last resort and as someone said earlier let it soak anddont rub to hard or you may see little raised spots ( pimples) when it does come off.Good luck and hope this helps .

Tried kerosene and it didn't work too well. Tried the Maguires clay bar kit and it did the trick. Would never have believed it would work. Bike looks better than it ever has, all kinds of crap came off along with the paint specks! I just ordered a Glare polish and spiderweb remover kit. This bike already looks as good as new, I wanna make it look even better than that, now that I've gotten started!

Thanks to one and all who responded and y'all keep the rubber down, chrome up!

Best wishes,

John

A little known fact, if you get road paint on your car or motorcycle, you can file a claim with your state Department of Transportation. They will pay to have the paint removed or new parts for your ride. I know that you can make the claim on line in Pennsylvania. Just make sure that it costs what you put on the claim in case they decide to investigate.

+10000, Clay bar rocks! Got paint splatter all over my car last year and i tried everything to get it off and then as a last ditch effort i tried my clay bar and it took it off instantly. Very Good stuff, i use the mothers clay bar, ive also used that liquid clay bar stuff. It works but not as good as the real thing.
