Thumbs up Advanced Carbon Fiber

I bought a HeadTrips (Advanced Carbon Fiber) DOT half polo helmet from a forum member here about a month ago. It was several years old but was never worn.

I decided I wanted the quick release removed, leather ear pads & chin pad added and D-rings attached but lowered on the strap about 1".

I contacted Advanced Carbon Fiber and they said send it back and they would take care of my needs.

Helmet came back today. They sent back a new helmet with a made in 4/09 sticker inside.

They did all the mods I asked for and I ended up paying just $19.95 for all the mods.

Their Customer Service is top notch and it appears that they will modify their helmets to suit their customers needs.

I didn't know you could get leather ear pads & chin pad added. Do you have any pictures? Is it still DOT?

Yep, it's their DOT half helmet in matt black.

I figured the ear pads will help with the wind and the chin pad is for comfort.

If you order a helmet, just tell them you want the ear flaps which come with the chin strap at no extra cost.

I'll get a picture taken tomorrow....

I have the ACC polo style half helmet and the only thing that I don't like about it is the strap above my throat. The chin pad would make it even more comfortable.

I just ordered 2 Polo DOT's for the wife and I a couple of days ago. It will be interesting to see your pics as I could probably still add them to the order if I like. I'm not sure about the ear flaps but the chin pad sounds good.

ACC is going to get a flood of requests now for the modifications. Get your helmets in early before the rush!
