Default New Street Glide but needs exhaust

Picked up my new 09 Street Glide Vivid Black with ABS, cruise and security. No extra money for exhaust. I started it up to go home and thought "Hmm these stock pipes are OK" then on the highway they seemed quite. Got the bike home, went in and wanted to show my wife the new bike..She says "I didn't hear you come in did you get the bike?" well obviously it is not as loud as I thought. She came out and said it does not sound anywhere is nice as my old electraglide.

I'll be getting some slip ons soon. No pics yet because it looks just like a stock SG on the HD website. Only drove 15 miles but they were great although my front forks bottom out on a small bump

Your front forks bottom out? They are the same setup as the other touring models I believe. Haven't heard any other issues with the other models though...

BTW, congrats on the new bike!

I recently got an '09 SG myself... Ordered the PC V package from Fuel Moto with Rinehart slip ons for my setup. Should be here by Fri, so I'm hoping I get it installed Sat. Can't wait.

Congrats on the new scoot. If you bottomed out the front forks there is something wrong. I have never bottomed out on any road in NH. Maybe SE oil will help if the problem continues.

That is the only complaint I have with my 09 SG is that the front ends seams to wont to bottom out I just thought it was crappy springs and when I pull the forks I will add progressive springs

I would be curious if you really are bottoming out your forks. The new 09 frame setup has a stiffer suspension package. Not sure what you are comparing it to, but it is stiffer than even the 08s, not to mention the rear is lowered an inch and that takes away travel and can add stiffness depending on how much air is in your shocks. Keep us posted...........have not heard of any other complaints of this nature yet. Congrats on the new scooter. Mine will be home in about 2 weeks, waiting on custom wheels.
