looking for opinions on pipes
I recently purchased an '05 Road King It has aftermarket pipes but I am going to change them. Not sure what kind they are, can't find a name on them except for Cycle Shack stamped into the mounting bracket. Anyways, I'm not sure what kind of pipes to get, there's a few i like the looks of but performance and quality are my main concerns. My friend says to go with rineharts but he's not real familiar with my bike, he just says everyone's riding them. I don't do things just because everyone else does!!!!!!!!!!
I have true duals already so I'm looking for slip-ons, I like the Vance & Hines Oval slip-ons and also the rineharts. Any opinions will be appreciated!
I also want to replace the Corbin "couch" that's on it, it's too wide for my ***! I'd like a low-profile seat that will sit me down as low as possible but still be comfortable.
Thanks in advance for the advice!!

Its all personal preference on what one likes in looks and sound.I went from se slipons when i first picked up my bike.Didnt really like them that much so we replaced the baffles with cycleshack baffles. It was better.I then went to the monster ovals too quiet and laid back, nice deep tone though with my stock headers. They sound better with duals.Sold the MO's got CFR slipons.Fantastic love them.Loved them so much i went ahead and got the CFR headers. Now i'm blessed.Probably your best bet is to listen to as many pipes as you can with a similar setup as yours.

I hear alot of good reports on Jackpot and Rush slipons (Fuelmotto) you should check out their website. Do you have a high flow Air cleaner, fuel management system?
When I got my 2005 RK custom, it had Vance and Hines classic slipons.... nice mufflers
but, I wanted to change, I went with Roadburner true duals "drag pros".... one piece, including heatshields from heads to saddlebags 2 3/4" dia. I love that clean look... they were too loud, I made some "lokipop" baffles Just right now!! (yeah)
I found a real good price on e-bay on a new "sidekick" HD seat very low profile
the longest i've ridden so far is 150 mi.....so far so good.
beat of luck to you,

Do like I did, go to your local dealer (in Texas the parts dept is open on Sunday) on a slow day usually the service dept closes early. Find someone in the parts dept (that knows what their doing) and ask them to show you pipe already mounted on bikes being serviced (usually have more than 20 at any Houston dealership). Most have the keys and ask if they can start different ones to compare (my guy had no problem). I personaly like the D&D Exhuast 2 into 1 for the sound and perfomance. You get to hear what they really sound like (as opposed to a poor soundbite on a website) BUY THE ONE YOU WANT (NOT THE ONE THEY TRY TO SELL YOU) You gotta ride with it! There's my 2-cents
