I thought about putting one in about the same place but was worried it might block airflow to the motor. Guess I got another reason not to install one. Thanks for the info

Thanks for the heads up. Yes it does suck, but like you said you can easily repair it.

I made the same mistake years ago on my Sporty. All it did was scrape the paint on the fender though. I was able to buff it out.

Thanks for the heads up, I just ran out to look at mine. No damage yet, but its coming off today, don't want to risk it.

I'm surprised you didn't hear the "thump" and then the tire rubbing. Glad you can fix it yourself.
